Digital Gloss is published by Northbank Media, which is the controller for personal data collected through this site. Contact us through the contact page about anything in this notice, including a request relating to your own data.
What we collect
- Newsletter subscription. The email address you provide and the date you subscribed.
- Enquiries. Whatever you send us through a form on this site, including a directory application.
- Server logs. Standard technical records generated when a page is requested.
We do not run advertising networks, we do not use third party advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not build profiles of readers.
Why we hold it, and on what basis
Newsletter. We send it because you asked for it. You can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email, and we act on it immediately.
Enquiries and applications. We hold what you send in order to reply and, for directory applications, to check the entry criteria and administer the entry.
Technical records. Held for security and to keep the site working.
Who else sees it
We do not sell, rent or share the subscriber list or enquiry data with anyone for their own purposes, including directory customers and newsletter sponsors. A sponsor receives a send volume figure for the issue they sponsored and nothing else.
Service providers process data on our behalf in order to host the site and send email. They act on our instructions and for no other purpose.
How long we keep it
Subscriber addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and we remove addresses that have been inactive for an extended period. Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Directory application records are kept for the life of the entry and for a period afterwards for accounting purposes. Technical records are kept for a short period.
Your rights
You have rights over your personal data, including to ask for a copy, to have inaccurate data corrected, to ask for deletion in certain circumstances, and to object to processing. Write to us through the contact page and we will respond within the required timescale.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Nothing on these pages follows you elsewhere.
Changes to this notice
If this notice changes materially, we will update the date at the foot of the page and, where the change affects newsletter subscribers, say so in the newsletter.
